the paper is not smooth

thought i'd draw something simple for my deviantART id. i mean, everyone there has ID, i felt kinda left out. so i did a quick drawing of a guy holding a pencil. this guy is supposed to be me. the MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER version of me, of course. so i drew him, inked him, shaded him, scanned him in, only to then realize that he's holding the damn pencil on his left hand. i'm not left-handed!



i'm an idiot.

the texture of copy paper from walmart (the cheapest one you can find) is rough, and i won't recommend that for drawing, but i use it anyway. this is because i'm cheap and as of now those happen to be the only paper i've got. the roughness of the texture is what i used to hate, but now after the drawing above, i do not hate is as much anymore. push the levels to the extreme, and you've got yourself a cool background effect from a dirty piece of copy paper.

i love this kind of art. you learn new techniques almost every hour.
