should be studying math now, but the nice weather and the comfy bed distracted me into bloggin
...................
i know
that doesn't make much of a sense
i think i'm just all fed up by so much shit i've gone through this quarter
as odd as it may seem, i enjoy it
but when it comes to the climax, the conclusion, the part when luke skywalker had to come face to face with darth vader and sidious, obi-wan with darth maul, anakin skywalker with obi-wan,
things begin to look
as if
they're completely pointless
in movies like starwars, the climaxes are always depicted in physical conflicts - well, not quite so physical since whoever gets hit first by a lightsaber dies - thus making the climaxes seem more interesting; of course: we all enjoy fights, don't we?
but some other heavier movies--by heavy i mean the one that gets you thinking so you have to eventually kill some gray cells--the climaxes aren't necessarily physical confrontation
the bad ones like matrix, try to wrap up all the loose ends from the storyline by one ridiculous physical fights that is irrelevant
however, the good ones--big fish for example--are able to wrap up all the loose ends by some non-physical conflicts, some words here and there, a long-ass conversation or speech, or by things displayed in the background of the movie that leads you into thinking "oh, so that's the reason why such and such happened earlier in the movie"
good endings like these, unfortunately, requires thinking - and by thinking i don't mean just simply "thinking"
but more of the ability to relate things that have already been shown all throughout the movie with the ending
that, all by yourself
just you and your little gray cells
a good ending of a movie provides you only with the trigger--now it's up to you to pull it
during this time of the quarter, the weekend before finals week,
which ending we're about to see isn't clear yet - it can go either way, even odds
but either way, motivation to wrap everything out sort of fades away
if we expect a lousy ending, then it'll be pointless to watch the whole movie - the storyline will get us all thinking about things that seem interesting, but the ending does NOT wrap it up
if we expect a brilliant ending, one that provides a trigger to the conclusion to all the questions you have in mind throughout the movie, it's still up to your tiny gray cells to pull the damn tirgger
so regardless, it's either a disappointment from a lousy ending or a suffering from the massacre of brain cells
either way you lose
and yet, you pay money to watch either one of these movies
